This month, I’m thrilled to be partnering with a fellow queer fibre artist, Rhichard Devrieze. He pulled colours directly from the rainbow flag to create the perfect set of minis. And since rainbows bring happiness all year round, I decided to go with a pattern for all seasons. This 100% merino cowl is perfect for cool summer night and spring days, or for a pop of colour under coats and jackets through winter and fall.
And while there’s many causes for celebration, it’s also important to remember that June is historically an important month for civil right and social justice. Notably, it is National Indigenous History month in Canada. In light of the ongoing tragedy faced by indigenous communities across the country as residential school site reveal an inconceivable (yet growing) number of children’s bodies, I have donated the money for the June extra to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society.
Our donation will be used towards funding of indigenous-run services for the tens of thousands of living survivors of the residential school systems—crucial work that is needed now more than ever. If you would like to learn more about the IRSSS or how to offer support, you can do so at www.irsss.ca.
