This onset of beautiful weather has been a wonderful change for my mood, but it’s also making it feel harder to spend so much time indoors. I find I keep putting down my WIPs with beautifully intricate cables or lace that requires constant attention, in favour of projects that let me work on autopilot and give my mind a much needed break.
I know I’m not alone in this, so for this month I wanted to strike a balance with the pattern: an easy, meditative knit that still looks interesting and fun. This faux-lace scarf is easy, breezy, and perfect for this warmer weather.
The Ruby yarn is a hidden gem, hand-dyed in Canada on a beautiful 80/20 wool/nylon base. The gorgeous tonal shades present in waves rather than stripes, due to the unique construction of the short rows in the pattern.
And I’ve included a card featuring the work of one of my favourite local artists, Vanessa Rachel Drew. It’s more important now than ever to stay connected to our loved ones, so I hope you can use this card to brighten someone’s day with the knowledge that you’re thinking about them.
