In my continuing quest to find summer-friendly fibres to scratch my knitting itch without squeaky stitches and sweaty hands, I am SO excited to be partnering with LanaKnits to explore the joys of Hemp for Knitting!
This month, our box features a very generous 200g of Hempton: a dk weight blend of hemp, cotton and nylon in two complimentary neutral shades that will be in season all year round. This yarn is vegan, environmentally friendly, and machine washable, and beautifully spun for wonderful stitch definition. The pattern is an all-year-round scarf that combines garter for easy mindless knitting, and a few short row sections to keep things interesting. And because of the alternating wedges, every way you style this scarf will have a completely different look.
And, in the spirit of environmental friendliness, this yarn is perfectly paired with a set of Unpaper Towels from the Peterborough ON based Cheeks Ahoy. This one set of reusable cotton cloths can replace hundreds of paper towels and napkins - and look super cute while doing so.
