I’m not sure about anywhere else, but here in Toronto May might just be the worst month of the year for weather. It’s not uncommon to go from a beautiful spring day, to snow flurries, to a heat spell all within the span of a week. So to combat such unpredictability, we have designed a project that works for many weathers.
This month we’re knitting with a fabulous mix of different fibres from Ancient Arts. The stunning wool/mohair/silk blend was hand-dyed to perfection with environmentally-friendly dyes in Calgary, Alberta; and the light fingering weight is perfect for a lacy spring-time shawl.
The project is a fairly simple 12 stitch repeat worked in an increase section, followed by a decrease section to create a symmetrical triangle. The lace lets the blue tones shine, while leaving the lovely mohair halo room to breathe.
To round out the box and to help keep track of your lace repeats, we have included a stunning set of stitch markers, handmade by Fibremancy (a local Canadian notions maker).
